From the Sterling Cooper Company Cookbook

AMC’s hit show MAD MEN is everywhere - fashion, news, pop culture — even food.   It may be too early to call it a trend (thankfully), but there seems to be a wave of interest in re-exploring the high-fat, low-taste dinnertime classics of the 50s and 60s.  In James Lileks’ non-cookbook, THE GALLERY OF REGRETTABLE FOOD we see the best of the worst of the under-the-label “recipes” of yesteryear.  It may not be particularly appetizing, but it is part of our history, so I say we all strap on our aprons, shake up a cocktail, and serve up a good old fashioned deviled ham loaf in a Dr. Pepper sauce.

I’m not encasing ham in gelatin anytime soon...I wouldn’t mind throwing together
